Soma Student Ministries

Learning and living the story of God together.   aka - Being the Body (Soma) of Christ in a

world that truly needs Christ's presence.

The world is finished with religion and spirituality that does nothing to change the way people actually live. And rightly so, I believe God is too. At Soma Student Ministries we seek true religion, the true faith that calls us to explore the God of the universe together and truly live out the story that God has given us. We do this by becoming wholly committed followers of Jesus Christ (the Biblical word for this is discipleship). An important part of becoming a disciple is loving people. Everyone is welcome to seek out what it means to live God's story with us. We strive to be honest with ourselves and with those around us and to meet everyone where they are. We are all seeking and growing, so we embrace all fellow travelers, no matter where they are in their story of how God finds them, (regardless of how they look, smell, think, act, etc.) and serve them as Christ would.  If we do this, then Christ will be present, loving the world through us. Living the story has changed our lives, and it can change yours too, giving you a new identity and hope of true, eternal life.

If you are interested in learning more about how we seek to do this you can explore the rest of our site or feel free to contact me by email at steve@lifesizesolutions.com or by phone at 602-955-5484. I hope you like what you discover.

Only one life will soon be passed, only what's done for Christ will last.

Light up the Night

Wednesday's from 7-8:30 pm in the GYM

At Light up the Night we seek to create a safe place where teens sense that they belong and are free to ask tough life questions. It's basically an introduction to what it really means to be a Christian.

Wide Open Worship

Sunday's from 6:00-8:00pm in the GYM .  Wide Open Worship is a place for teens to seek out deep truths and Christian maturity through corporate prayer, group discussions and Bible study.

Read to Me

The third Tuesday of every month at the United Methodist Outreach Mission (U.M.O.M.).  Christ loved and cared for the forgotten and marginalized. He served the needy as if they were kings and queens. As Christ's followers we desire to do as Christ did. We are not perfect in this, but through UMOM's "Read to Me" program we are able to share the love of Christ by helping tutor under-privileged children and do our part to break the cycle of poverty.

CAMPS AND RETREATS
Planned at various times throughout the year to provide spiritual and social growth. An opportunity to get away, bond with others, and reflect on important issues.

DISCIPLESHIP
As teens desire spiritual growth they are offered "one on one" discussion and study with a mature believer. This provides tremendous spiritual growth and the building of friendships.

MINISTRY OF SERVICE
Various opportunities are provided for teens to minister to others. We believe this builds solid Christians and citizens.
